With a machine called the Animus, you can view and control the genetic memories of your ancestor, Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad. You will play a modern-day man named Desmond Miles. As the first entry to the Assassin's Creed series, this game introduces the characters during the Third Crusade to the Holy Land.
